There are places you do not really search for.
You discover them by chance and immediately wonder why you did not know about them earlier.
Forellensee in Zweisimmen is exactly that kind of place.
A small private lake in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Surrounded by meadows, forests and the Alps. The water is crystal clear, fed by natural mineral springs. When the sun touches the surface, the lake feels almost unreal. Almost like something from a fairytale.
And this is where something has been created that is rarely found in Switzerland in this form.
From 29 March 2026, guests will be able to stay directly by the water or even above it.

Sleeping on the Water: A Rare Type of Accommodation in Switzerland
The centrepiece of the project is the Tiny Water Villa, built directly over the lake.
Guests staying here can open the door in the morning and look straight out onto the water. The lake is quite literally beneath the house.
This type of accommodation is usually associated with tropical destinations such as Bora Bora or the Maldives. In Switzerland, it is a true rarity.
That is exactly what makes Forellensee so special.
The atmosphere is difficult to describe. Calm water, clear mountain air and the Alps in the background create a setting that immediately slows everything down.
A Small Micro-Destination in the Middle of Nature
In addition to the Tiny Water Villa, there are other special accommodations around the lake.
Three small Lake Cabins stand directly on the shore. These cosy wooden tiny houses are only a few steps from the water and are ideal for couples or nature lovers.
The Mini Villa offers a little more space, also located directly by the lake. It combines comfort with the same peaceful atmosphere of the surroundings.
Together, they create a small, intimate destination with only a few accommodations.
- Deliberately manageable.
- Deliberately quiet.
- Deliberately personal.
Not a large resort.
Not mass tourism.
A place to breathe.
Swimming, a Fire Pit and Nature Experiences
Forellensee is a private lake fed by natural springs.
In summer, guests can:
- swim in the clear water
- sit on the jetty and watch the mountain landscape
- relax by the shore
- simply enjoy the quiet
There is also a barbecue area with a fire pit directly by the lake.
Making a fire in the evening, grilling something and watching the sunset over the water. Often, it is exactly these simple moments that make a place unforgettable.
The GoldenPass Train as an Unexpected Highlight
One small detail makes the location even more special.
Behind the lake runs the railway line of the Montreux Oberland Bernois Railway. The famous GoldenPass Panoramic train regularly passes here on its way towards Gstaad and Montreux.
When the train glides through the landscape, it almost feels like a scene from a film.
Many guests later describe this moment as surprisingly magical. You sit by the lake, the mountains glow in the background, and suddenly the panoramic train moves through the scenery.
Perfectly Located Between Gstaad and Interlaken
Forellensee is located in Zweisimmen in the Bernese Oberland.
This places it right between two of Switzerland’s best-known destinations:
- Gstaad
- Interlaken
The location is ideal for guests who want to explore the region during the day and return to a quiet retreat in the evening.
A Modern Retreat with an Autonomous Concept

This means that many processes are organised digitally.

How Immo Host Operates Special Places
Forellensee is also a good example of how we work at Immo Host.
Our basic idea is simple.
Special places deserve professional and modern management.
For owners of holiday apartments or unique projects, we take care of services such as:
- marketing on platforms like Airbnb and Booking.com
- building direct booking websites
- pricing strategy and dynamic pricing
- guest communication and support
- automated processes for check-in and operations
This allows even smaller and unique places to be operated successfully, without owners having to manage daily operations themselves.
A Place to Arrive
Forellensee is not a classic hotel.
It is a small retreat for people who:
- love nature
- seek peace and quiet
- want to discover special places
Maybe you simply sit by the lake in the evening.
Maybe you swim in the clear water early in the morning.
Maybe you just listen to the wind in the trees.
Sometimes, that is all it takes.
📍 Overnight stays at Forellensee are possible from 29 March 2026.
